DALLAS – June 14, 2010 – MumboJumbo, a leading developer and publisher of casual games, today launched Midnight Mysteries™: Salem Witch Trials, a hidden-object adventure game. The follow up to the hit Edgar Allan Poe Conspiracy begins with the untimely death of yet another great American author, Nathaniel Hawthorne. The player must travel back in time to the Salem Witch Trials to uncover the true cause of the author’s death, while solving brain-teasing puzzles, interviewing the ghosts of Salem’s past, and collecting clues throughout the historic village. In Midnight Mysteries: Salem Witch Trials, the player is approached by the ghost of Nathaniel Hawthorne, the writer of such American classics as The Scarlet Letter and House of the Seven Gables. Compelled to help the writer rest in peace, the player must explore the 17th century town of Salem, Massachusetts and interview the townspeople to discover the true cause behind the author’s death nearly two centuries later.

“Salem Witch Trials includes ten adventure missions that take place throughout the village, which has been fully rendered out in detail,” said Cottam. “With the added adventure elements, we’ve also enhanced the player’s journal, which acts as a built-in, fully-illustrated guide that will help with puzzles, recap character interviews, and restate the goal for each mission. For casual gamers who are looking for a great game with a spellbinding story and a lot of content, this is the game for them.”

Hawthorne was born in Salem around the turn of the 19th century and wrote a number of novels and short stories. The writer added the “w” to his last name (originally Hathorne) in an effort to distance himself from relatives involved in the Salem Witch Trials. He explored a number of moral themes throughout his works and many of his writings take place in Puritan New England. Hawthorne’s link to the infamous trials made his story the perfect fit for continuing the mystery game series.

MumboJumbo launches Multi-Touch enabled Match 3 game

DALLAS, Texas - April 2, 2010 - 7 Wonders of the Ancient World, a Match 3 favorite from leading developer and publisher MumboJumbo, will be available for the Apple iPad when the new device gets into consumer hands this weekend.

“We’re excited about another great platform from Apple,” said Mark Cottam, CEO of MumboJumbo. “Obviously this expands distribution opportunities for our titles, but it also opens up more development possibilities. 7 Wonders is a great fit for the iPad, and we’ve incorporated a Multi-Touch feature that allows you to play the game with family or friends, which we think players will really enjoy.”

7 Wonders of the Ancient World takes players around the world matching colorful runes to create the 7 Wonders. The Multi-Touch feature allows players to touch different places on the screen at the same time to make matches quicker or simultaneously with a friend. Players collect power-ups, capstones and cornerstones to help them erect structures like the Great Pyramid of Giza, the hanging Gardens of Babylon, the Statue of Zeus at Olympia and the Lighthouse of Alexandria.

Casual games assortments ship to Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Target

Dallas - March 10, 2010 - Today, MumboJumbo, a leading developer and publisher of premium casual games, shipped an innovative casual game assortment program to leading retailers nationwide. With programs in place at Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Target, MumboJumbo continues its eminent presence at retail stores while offering premium content at value pricing to shoppers.

In preparation for Easter, MumboJumbo has worked with key retailers on a special MumboJumbo Casual Classics Assortment display that will offer shoppers a collection of between eight and 12 titles for under $5 each. The assortment covers a number of genres and includes top-selling hit games like Ranch Rush, Jungo, LUXOR King’s Collection and Build-a-lot. The displays will be available at Target, Wal-Mart, and Best Buy in time for the spring holiday, helping parents on a budget find fun casual games to fill those Easter baskets.

“We’re very excited about the value program that we’ve launched with our retail partners,” said Mark Cottam, CEO of MumboJumbo. “We first entered the program for the Christmas holidays, and the success prompted our retail partners to seek out both ongoing programs and additional seasonal opportunities. Families aren’t the only ones benefiting from the program. According to Jay DiNucci, director of finance for MumboJumbo, the program is also benefiting developers. “By expanding the lifecycle of the products that we license from developers, we’re able to offer those developers a greater return,” says DiNucci. “In some cases, this strategy affords these developers 50 to 100 percent more of a return than they would have through just a standard publishing strategy.”

One such success story comes from HipSoft, the makers of the hit game Build-a-lot. MumboJumbo included the first iteration of the neighborhood-building franchise in their 2009 holiday assortment, which performed extremely well at retail. “MumboJumbo sold an impressive quantity of our game Build-a-lot in Q4 2009 as part of their assortment program,” said Bryan Bouwman, Owner of HipSoft. HipSoft’s Gem Shop will be featured in the Spring assortment, on shelves next week.

MumboJumbo Brings Michael Breslin Onboard as General Manager

Casual games industry veteran to oversee marketing and digital online business

Dallas, TX - March 3, 2010 - Gaming industry veteran Mike Breslin has joined the executive management team of MumboJumbo, a leading developer and publisher of premium casual games. Breslin, who has held senior management positions at Oberon Media/I-Play, Mattel, Disney Interactive, and Ion Storm, joins the makers of LUXOR, 7 Wonders and Samantha Swift as their General Manager – Digital Business & Marketing. He joined the team effective March 1, 2010 and brings with him more than a decade of industry experience.

DALLAS (January 19, 2010) – Braid, the darling of the indie game industry, will hit retail stores across the U.S. in January. MumboJumbo, a leading developer and publisher of casual games, will publish the unique platform game for PC and distribute the title to retail stores nationwide.

Developed by Number None, Braid is a platform game in a painterly style that allows players to manipulate the flow of time to solve puzzles. The journey follows Tim on his expedition to save the princess. In each world, the player has different powers that impact the passing of time in strange ways. The player must figure out how to use these powers to solve each of the 60 levels.

Braid has amassed nearly two dozen awards since it first launched for Xbox and PC digital download in 2008, including the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Awards’ Casual Game of the Year, Games Magazine Best Puzzle/Arcade Game of 2008, IGN’s Best Puzzle Game of E3 2008, and GameSpot’s Best Platformer of 2008.

In Samantha Swift and the Mystery from Atlantis, Samantha’s faced with an all-new villain who has hatched a mind-control scheme that she is desperately trying to prevent. Sam’s quest takes her across the globe looking for pieces of a mystical Atlantean treasure. The third chapter in the saga takes players to new locations, introduces new characters, and revisits some of Samantha’s closest allies and the Museum of Secrets Lost.

Casual game developer teams with Tribeka to offer titles on in-store kiosks

DALLAS (December 1, 2009) – MumboJumbo, leading developer and publisher of premium casual games, has teamed with Tribeka, the brains behind the on-demand manufacturing offered at the new Microsoft Stores, to distribute a five-game assortment through the stores software kiosk system. Microsoft Stores debuted in October and in-store kiosks offer on-demand manufacturing of PC titles to their customers.

MumboJumbo titles that will be available for on-demand manufacturing, include 7 Wonders Treasures of Seven, Samantha Swift and the Hidden Roses of Athena, LUXOR: Quest for the Afterlife, Midnight Mysteries: The Edgar Allan Poe Conspiracy and Zombie Bowl-o-Rama. LUXOR: Quest for the Afterlife is a marble-shooter action game in which players fire colored orbs to create chains of matching colors, which eliminates the orbs from the advancing chain. The player must eliminate all spheres before they reach the pyramid.

LUXOR™ Adventures Launches Today for PC

Popular Egyptian franchise features all-new seek-and-find adventure, marble-shooter and match three levels

This hidden-object adventure game follows a tale through time as players recover objects scattered through history. LUXOR Adventures is the fifth installment in the LUXOR franchise, made popular by the marble-shooter mechanic which received recognition as the “casual game of the year” when it launched. LUXOR Adventures follows the tale of the mythical Stairway to Heaven and two archaeologists who embark on a journey to unravel the evil doings of their one-time benefactor. There are also a handful of match-three levels as well as more than a dozen different puzzle levels throughout the game.

Speculation about his death has gone on for years by scholars, doctors and enthusiasts. His death has been attributed to everything from alcoholism, to rabies, to the violent practice of voting fraud known as cooping.

Many of Poe’s works also have been termed tales of ratiocination, or logical reasoning, which Poe’s prominent Detective Dupin character uses to solve crimes in many of his stories—a factor that made this particular story one of interest for the first installment of Midnight Mysteries.

In Midnight Mysteries: The Edgar Allan Poe Conspiracy, the player must collect clues, interview witnesses and piece together the conspiracy theory behind the famous American author’s death to set Poe’s spirit free.

The title is just one of many ways that the life and works of Edgar Allan Poe are being celebrated in 2009—this year marks the 200th anniversary of the acclaimed mystery writer’s life. Players will follow the Silk Road to chase thieves and collect artifacts along the way, which will help them solve the mystery of Queen Nefertiti.
This is the much-anticipated follow-up to LUXOR 3, a game that was downloaded more than 2.5 million times when it was launched last year and still ranks among the top marble shooter games at popular online game portals.
In this episode, there are a number of new features that will be debuted, including:
• New Battle mode: This all-new tug-of-war mode pits players against the thieves. If a player is able to make matches faster than the opposing thief, then a scarab pusher is added to his or her side of the train of marbles, which can push the thief’s treasure into his or her possession
